I'm not Sherlock Holmes...Test your senility level

When I got up this morning, I walked into the kitchen and stepped in a puddle in front of the kitchen sink.

(This is rarely a good way to start the day.)

In my case, though, it turned out to be less annoying and more extremely perplexing—investigation revealed the puddle to be some sort of cleaning fluid (I suspect the sort of “general cleaner” I sometimes buy by the jug), but I could not figure out the source. I mean, in front of the sink, there, I expected either some sort of catastrophic plumbing issue or a bottle in the under-sink cabinet gone capsized. And… nothing. I could find nothing. I couldn’t even find a bottle that matched the smell, anywhere. Nor was there a trail from under the sink, indicating a spill from within. It was simply a self-contained puddle of cleaner. I couldn’t investigate further because I was in jeopardy of being late for work (as usual) and I didn’t think my boss would believe that I was late because I was sniffing cleaners….well maybe he would believe me…but that’s another story.

On my morning break I have been considering the ramifications of someone breaking into the house and pouring a few capfulls of cleaner on the floor in front of the sink. What does it MEAN? Was it a murder plot—intended to slip me up, cause a broken neck as I skidded butt-first, crashing to the floor? Was it a not-so-subtle sign that the floor needs mopping? (The floor does indeed need mopping. I have a family and pets; the floor ALWAYS needs mopping.) Did someone in the family sleep-clean?

It’s very curious.

I was ready to indict a “helpful” child, but then I remembered I don’t have any of those. They used to be cute helpful children…but then 13 happened and its been downhill to the world of Teen-Self Absorption ever since.

So, um, if you spilled some all-purpose cleaner in front of my sink recently, please speak up. It’s sort of weirding me out.

I’ve been really worried about my inability to think and feel as if my brain is going somewhere….Hawaii maybe….possibly Prince Edward Island…it hasn’t given me its travel itinerary yet.
From what I’ve read on all of your blogs, I might not be alone in this brain defection problem.

Exercise of the brain is as important as exercise of the muscles. As we grow older, it's important that we keep mentally alert. The saying: "If you don't use it, you will lose it" applies to various areas of your body, and also applies to the brain, so........

Below is a very private way to gauge your loss or non-loss of intelligence.
So take the following test presented here and determine if you are losing it !

OK, relax, clear your mind and....... begin.

1. What do you put in a toaster?

The answer is bread. If you said "toast", then give up now and go do something else.
Try not to hurt yourself.
If you said, "bread", go to question 2.

2. Say "silk" five times. Now spell "silk". What do cows drink?

Answer: Cows drink water. If you said "milk", please do not attempt the next question.
Your brain is obviously overstressed and may even overheat. It may be that you need
to content yourself with reading something more appropriate such as "Children's World".
If you said, "water" then proceed to question three.

3. If a red house is made from red bricks and a blue house is made from blue bricks and
a pink house is made from pink bricks and a black house is made from black bricks,
what is a greenhouse made from?

Answer: Greenhouses are made from glass. If you said "green bricks",
what the heck are you still doing here reading these questions?????
Dang.... If you said "glass", then you can go on to question four.

4. Twenty years ago, a plane is ; flying at 20,000 feet over Germany. If you will recall,
Germany at the time was politically divided into West Germany and East Germany
During the flight, TWO of the engines fail. The pilot, realizing that the last remaining engine
is also failing, decides on a crash landing procedure. Unfortunately the engine fails before
he has time and the plane crashes smack in the middle of "no man's land" between
East Germany and West Germany.
Where would you bury the survivors - East Germany or West Germany or in "no man's land"?

Answer: You don't, of course, bury survivors. If you said ANYTHING else,
you are a real dunce and you must NEVER try to rescue anyone from a plane crash.
Your efforts would not be appreciated. ......
If you said, "Don't bury the survivors", then proceed to the next question.

5. If the hour hand on a clock moves 1/60th of a degree every minute then how many degrees
will the hour hand move in one hour?

Answer: One degree. If you said "360 degrees" or anything other than "one degree",
you are to be congratulated on getting this far, but you are obviously out of your league.
Turn your pencil in and exit the room. Everyone else proceed to the final question.

6. Without using a calculator - You are driving a bus from London to Milford Haven in Wales. In London,
17 people get on the bus.
In Reading, six people get off the bus and nine people get on.
In Swindon, two people get off and four get on.
In Cardiff, 11 people get off and 16 people get on.
In Swansea, three people get off and five people get on.
In Carmathen, six people get off and three get on.
You then arrive at Milford Haven.
What was the name of the bus driver?

Answer: Oh, for heaven sake! It was YOU, you dummy. Read the first line!!!

If you got all six questions correct, wait til next year, when you too probably pass OVER THE EDGE INTO SENILITY !!!

So is it bad, if I didn't get past question 2 and I'm not even 30 yet. Yeah....its been a long week.

I said, milk. But I went on to the rest anyway because all cows drink milk as babies, thus, they dooo (read with a mooo sound) drink milk. Senile? I think not!

So did you ever figure out where the cleaner in front of the sink came from?

Oh and did you get my gift in the mail yet? I wanted to know what you thought of it...
