SCORE!

Wesley plays JV soccer for Southern Alamance High School and in my opinion his skills rival those of David Beckham. He is fast, aggressive and focused. He started out this year playing defense mostly at sweeper. However because of his speed and his ability to take out the other players (he recently broke a kids leg, because he is built like a brick wall), his coach has been playing him at attacking midfield and winger. He is poetry in motion and all of his hard work and effort finally paid off and he scored the first GOAL of his high school sports career! He has had many assists, but this was the first time that he actually got to put it in the net.

Now ordinarily the story would stop there, but not for our Wesley. After scoring the goal he was so excited that his arms shot up in that V for victory pose. He then proceeded to scream at the top of his lungs “YES!, YES! YES!” and then took a victory lap around the field getting congratulations and HIGH FIVES from ALL of his teammates including the goalkeeper. The referee was blowing his whistle and trying to get the teams to the center of the field for the kick-off, but would Wesley listen and get into position, NO! Like a movie star who has just won an academy award, he was not going to stop until he had high fived and hugged every single member of his team and his coach. The entire crowd was laughing and cheering him on. By now the Ref’s face is bright red from all the whistling and yelling and was threatening to give him a RED Card if he didn’t take his position on the field.

That Wes just crack’s me up. Everything he does is OVER-THE-TOP!
